Tobi's visit at home

I'm very happy because I could meet with Tobi and we could spend a short time together! He arrived with Tina to the International Postcrossing Meeting, witch was organized in Budapest.

I promised to Tobi that I'll upload some pictures that I made about him.

I hope nobody will be angry to me, if I put a picture about the postcrossers.:) Tobi is also on the pic.:)

Well, a photo together with Tobi... We made it on Saturday morning in my teracce. We wanted to record our meeting.:D

Tobi could see some nice places in Budapest where he hadn't been earlier: the Vajdahunyad Castle, Opera-house, Heroes square, the Basilica...
Tobi contined his journey. Good luck, little turtle!;)

Greetings from Slovenia!

Whew, I finally found the time to write something down... I'm having fun here! I saw Kamnik, Ljubljana and Maribor, I discovered traditional Slovene crafts, learned a lot about history and tried some interesting food stuff.

This is a model of a "toplar", which is a type of a drying frame - it's used for drying hay and is a typical Slovene rural architecture. In this size, it doesn't seem too big...

Of course, later I got my picture taken on a real one... You can see me among the still green grass to the left of the picture. Of course, I'm just a small turtle, so you'll have to try really hard...

In Maribor, Tina took me on a stroll through the old part of Maribor, which they call Lent. It's really famous for a summer festival, but we were there in the morning, and nothing much was happening. The most amazing thing I saw there was a 400 (well, going on 450) year old vine, which is entered into the Guinness book of record as the oldest in the world that still bears fruit and gives wine... But only a little, and you can't buy it, you can only receive it as a state gift. One day, when I rule my onn country, I'll definitely come back to taste it!

After all that walking, I got invited to taste a traditional Slovene cake - the "Prekmurska gibanica". It is "native" to Prekmurje, a region of Slovenia right next to the Slovenian border. It is made of layers of walnuts, apple, poppy seeds and cottage cheese, separated by layers of dough and the layers have to be arranged in a specific sequence to make it genuine! Yummy! I need to get the recipe... Although everybody is warning me that I'm to busy to do it and they are speaking about two types of dough to make and spending all day in the kitchen and needing a huge baking dish... I have no idea what they're talking about!

Tomorrow I'm going to Slovenia! I'm excited to come back to Europe and spring! Here it's raining a lot and it's very cold (for them). I want to see the beautiful flowers!

How I have many photos, after I started my trip again, Ana will continue uploading all the photos here!

Third day in Brazil

Hello! I've been so busy here in Brazil that I didn't have time to post something here.

In my third day in Brazil, Ana went with me to the mall and we saw a children's fashion show.

It was very funny to see those little kids with those small clothes walking with no sense on the runaway..

We still have more photos of Ana's school and me at the mall :D

Me on Jordana's head! Like I said, people really liked me! :)

Me on Joana's arm! With a nice brazilian bracelet showing their flag..

Helping Ana to study! She does it everyday..
Well, I have to go now but the photos didn't finnish..

I'm missing so much my mom! Next Monday I'll be going to the U.S. :)
I'm so excited! And hoping it will be less longer than my trip to Brazil!

Second day in Brazil

Yesterday was my second day in Brazil. We were going to see the most beautiful view of Rio de Janeiro city, but the weather is terrible. It was raining a lot yesterday, so we couldn't go there. Today is still raining, but Ana is hoping it will get better. It was about 19ºC which they consider very cold. But I'm used to!

So.. Ana and I went to a children's fashion show! It was so funny! There were children who was 1 year old on the runaway. They were so cute. Me and Ana laughed a lot.

I'll post the photos of yesterday, when I visited Ana's school.

Me in the classroom. Ana always sits in front the blackboard, very close from the teachers. Her classmates are very nice. They really liked me and my story :D

studying Physics... It's so boring.. but her teacher is very funny. I'm learning Portuguese with his idiot jokes..

Renata's hand, me and part of Ana. Renata was the first one to know me! She thought I'm very cute. Yay! :D

A small view of the school. The school is very big. They also have a gothic church in school! It's a Catholic school, but they are not strong with religion. You don't have to be a Catholic or something like that. They really respect you. It's very nice.

Barbara, Ana's friend. She is always very happy! She helped us to find nice places to take photos and she didn't want to let me go! She's awesome.

Me at the garden. I loved this flower. It's very beautiful.. brazil doesn't seem to be in autumn.. well, not the autumn I'm used!

This plant was the first thing that Portugal took from Brazil in the 1500's. It's very rare now.

Turtles are very important in Brazil, so we are in banknotes! Isn't it nice?

We still have many photos, but it will be for tomorrow.
We're hoping the sun will come tomorrow and we'll go in the museum!

Bye :)

Tobi in Brazil!

Hello, people! After a long journey I finally arrived in Ana's home. It was yesterday and Ana's mom was very curious to know what there were in the envelope. I could hear saying: "oh! is this little tobi?" When Ana arrived at home they opened the envelope, and I say hello to everybody!

After Ana said it was better if I take a nap in a comfortable bed. I really needed to rest!

Me in my warm bed which is also Ana's cardigan!
When I woke up we had dinner and Ana showed me a typical meal in Brazil.

Rice and Beans are the main food in Brazil, acording to Ana. Don't matter if the person is rich or poor. Beans are salt and not sweet.. it's very different! But it's also delicious..

After dinner, Ana showed me some places in her house:

Ana's mom collects cats like these ones. They're very cute!

This is Sophie. Their real cat. I think she didn't like me.. When I said it to Ana, she said that it's normal. Sophie doesn't like anybody...

This portrait shows Tamar project, which is a brazilian project in defense of turtles in Brazil! Ana told me that this picture was took in Bahia (a brazilian state) and they take care of many rare turtles. They do take care of the wild turtles too. With this project, the number of turtles has really increased in Brazil's coast. When she told me about this, I was so happy! It's very nice to know that still there are people who cares about us.

Ana also showed me Brazil's map. Brazil is very big! I was very surprised! Ana told me that to arrive in Argentina, she stayed two and half hours in the airplane! Rio de Janeiro is a little state in south-east.

In this one I'm in Brazil and Ana's finger is in Hungary where my mom is right now! I really miss her! But I know she is happy with my travel and wishing everything will be fine!
We still have many photos of today! But Ana is saying that I need to sleep because tomorrow we'll visit MAC which is the most famous museum in Niterói, the city I am.
And Hopefully the weather will be better than today. Today was raining a lot. If this wheater continues I'll not see Sugar Loaf and Christ across the Guanabara bay because of the mist.. Today was very hot for me, but Ana said it was very cold for her! The temperature was about 24ºC! Everybody was using many clothes! It's so different of Europe!
Anyway, I must go! Tomorrow I'll post the photos we took in Ana's school. She's in her last year. So she is studying a lot, but her classmates were really very cool with me!
Wait to see!
Hugs (specially for my mom who I'm missing so much!),
Tobi

No more snow!

Hello all Tobi's friends and fans!

Here he is, having a last checkup before starting his journey to Brazil! This was on Wednesday, 11.4.
He's probably somewhere warm already, and that's good, because his last days here were fun, but very cold..

Here's few more photos Tobi wanted you to see...

Sirius Hurja (Wild) is the cat Tobi became good friends with.
They enjoyed watching out the window together, because there was a lot of birds and squirrels.
They also liked to sleep together when the weather was bad.
They were SO cute together! :)

And there were other cute animals for Tobi to play with...
Many seals, and even a real Finnish polar bear! (Tobi was a bit surprised they are so small...)

And other turtles too! Tobi was really happy to have all these distant relatives around! And they were very curious and asked Tobi so many questions about the places he has already visited and is going to visit on his journey!

On his last day here in Finland it was sunny and Tobi wanted to play outside. He made a great snowman all by himself and also wanted to try how this kicksled works!

Tobi and the children had a good time on the ice of the lake testing the sled. Unfortunately we didn't have small enough sled for Tobi to take a ride on his own :)

So after all this snow and cold it's a happy thing that Tobi's next destination is going to be a warm place! Goodbye from Finland, we stay tuned to see how Tobi's story goes on! :) Szia!
Bon Voyage!!
